Neck Braces
Cervical collars (neck braces) range from soft foam supports that rest tired, strained neck muscles to structured collars used after injury or surgery. Aspen — whose collars are standard equipment in many trauma centres — makes up most of this range: the Vista and VRTX collars, MultiPost versions for added support, and the VRTX CTO4 (a cervical-thoracic orthosis, extending the brace onto the chest for greater control). Sporlastic's CERVI-HiT covers the soft end, and medi's Collar Soft Kidz is sized for children.
A structured cervical collar is almost always a clinician's call — fitted and worn to their instructions after whiplash, fracture or surgery. Soft collars for muscle strain are a gentler matter, but if neck pain follows an accident, get it assessed before you brace it.
