Not everyone shopping here has an injury. Some people need support for a stage of life, a working day, or a training week — the product is doing a job, but the job isn't recovery from something. These are those.
Maternity
Pregnancy puts two separate demands on the body, and they need different products.
The first is circulatory. Blood volume rises sharply, the growing uterus presses on the veins returning blood from the legs, and the result is aching, heavy legs and swollen ankles — and, for some, varicose veins that appear for the first time. Graduated compression is the standard answer, and maternity stockings and pantyhose are cut with a panel that accommodates a bump without squeezing it.
The second is structural. As the pelvis loosens and the centre of gravity shifts, lower back and pelvic-girdle pain are extremely common. Maternity back and pelvic supports lift and stabilise rather than compress. This category also includes wrist bracing, because pregnancy-related carpal tunnel and de Quervain's tenosynovitis are far more common than most people expect — the latter often arriving after the birth, from lifting a baby.
All-day support
For the person whose back hurts because of how they spend their day, not because something happened to it — long hours standing, driving, lifting, or sitting badly at a desk.
These are the softer, lower-profile lumbar supports and posture braces: enough structure to remind you where your spine should be and take some load off it, discreet enough to wear under clothing for a full shift. If you need something you can genuinely forget you're wearing by mid-morning, start here rather than in the rigid bracing.
Performance & recovery
Active supports built for people who are training, not convalescing. The design philosophy is the opposite of immobilisation: a knitted compression sleeve with anatomically shaped pads that keeps the joint moving and proprioceptively aware, rather than locking it still.
This is where the motion-focused lines sit — supports intended to be worn during activity, plus compression built for sport and for recovery after it. There is real overlap with sports injury: the difference is roughly whether you're managing an injury or trying to avoid one.
Somewhere between two of these?
Common, and not a problem. A pregnant nurse on her feet for twelve hours is genuinely in two of these categories at once, and the right answer might be a product from either. Message us and we'll work it out with you.
