The SWEDE-O-UNIVERSAL X8 is the strapped version of the lace-up SWEDE-O-UNIVERSAL ankle brace. It is worn inside the shoe for a sprain, a capsule or ligament tear, an ankle that keeps giving way, after surgery, and to prevent a repeat injury.

The lacing pulls the brace in evenly over the insole-like base, and a figure-of-eight strap then crosses under the arch and over the instep the way an ankle taping does, adding a second, independently adjustable line of hold against the ankle rolling over. Reinforcement inlays sit on the inner and outer side; they lift out and can be warmed and shaped to the ankle.

It is fitted by the circumference just above the ankle and can be worn on either foot.
