The MANU-HiT® POLLEX is a wrist brace that encloses the thumb as well as the wrist, holding both in a functional position while the grip is kept usable.

It is worn for arthrosis of the thumb-side wrist bones, for arthrosis, sprain or an ulnar collateral ligament injury of the thumb’s base joint, for carpal tunnel syndrome, for injuries to the carpal bones, for painful changes in the scaphoid bone, for radial instability of the wrist, for radial nerve palsy with a dropped hand and weak thumb abduction, and after hand or wrist surgery.

An aluminium inlay runs through the brace; it comes anatomically pre-moulded and can be bent further to the wearer’s own hand. Enclosing the thumb is what separates this from the plain MANU-HiT, which leaves the thumb free.

Wash MANU-HiT POLLEX gently in lukewarm water (30 °C) with mild detergent and air dry
Do not dry it in the tumble dryer, on the heating or in the microwave
To avoid damaging other garments during washing, it is best to wash MANU-HiT POLLEX separately or close the hook-and-loop fasteners in advance and remove the inserted reinforcement rails

Sporlastic prints these steps in the instructions for use supplied with the product.

MANU-HiT® POLLEX is available in a left and right version.
Open all hook-and-loop fasteners except for the one on the thumb part and slip into the brace with the affected hand. Guide the thumb into the thumb guide provided on the brace.
Close the hook-and-loop fasteners.
Now insert the hook-and-loop tape between the thumb and index finger and fasten it.
The wide inelastic hook-and-loop strap adds to the stabilisation of the wrist with measured tension right around it.
It may be necessary to readjust the hook-and-loop straps.
