Movement-limiting ankle orthosis with adjustable air cushions

Combined with shoes, the AirLoc® stabilizes the ankle and prevents recurring sprains following an acute injury. Two anatomically contoured, cushioned plastic shells are connected flexibly below the heel, allowing the orthosis to adapt perfectly to the width of the foot. Thanks to an inflatable air cushion integrated into the outer shell, the AirLoc’s shape can be individually adjusted to the degree of swelling when putting on the orthosis. Like every Bauerfeind product, it is made in Germany.

Stabilizes the lateral capsular ligament structure of the upper ankle, thanks to anatomically contoured plastic shells, thus preventing the foot from spraining (particularly when used in combination with shoes)
Pronation and supination are mechanically restricted to prevent recurring trauma
The flat, anatomically contoured orthosis has been designed for acute treatment in particular, and is available in one universal size for the right / left foot
The insides feature extensive foam pads in a soft microfiber top cover
Two anatomically contoured plastic shells form a U splint and are secured with two anatomically contoured Velcro straps that are wound around the ankle and lower leg in a circle

Hand wash separately with a mild, alkali-free cleaning agent.
Close all the hook-and-loop (Velcro) fasteners before washing so they keep working.

The AirLoc® is put on before the shoe and adjusted with the air cushion once it is in place.

Position the two shells on either side of the ankle so the connection sits under the heel.
Wind the two contoured hook-and-loop straps around the ankle and lower leg and fasten them.
Use the integrated pump to inflate the air cushion until the brace sits snugly against the ankle.
Use the release valve to let air out if the ankle is swollen or the pressure feels too high.
Put on a closed shoe over the brace — the stabilising effect depends on wearing it with a shoe.
Re-check the air cushion as swelling goes down over the course of treatment.
