The MalleoTrain® is Bauerfeind's everyday ankle brace: a knitted compression support for an ankle that is sore, stiff or swollen after an injury, after surgery, or from osteoarthritis. It is worn on bare skin inside a normal shoe and does not restrict how the foot moves.

Its three-dimensional Train knit is shaped to the ankle so it does not slip, and two anatomically contoured viscoelastic pads sit over the ankle bones on the inner and outer side. Because the pads are slightly raised, the knit presses hardest on the soft tissue around the bones rather than on the bones themselves. Walking squeezes and releases that pressure, an intermittent massage that improves circulation and helps swelling and bruising clear.

The knit is softened at the edges so it does not dig in, and its high elasticity makes the brace easy to pull on and off. Choose Left or Right to match the foot. Like every Bauerfeind product, it is made in Germany.

This is a medical-grade orthopaedic brace that incorporates semi-rigid structural support.   • Machine wash separately at 30°C (86°F) with a liquid detergent.
  • Remove the hook-and-loop (Velcro) straps before washing where possible, or fasten them firmly in their designated place.
  • Remove the pads before washing if they can be taken out.
  • Use a laundry net and keep the spin cycle to a maximum of 500 revolutions per minute.
  • Air dry only — do not tumble dry, or the knitted fabric may be impaired.
  • Wash regularly so the knitted fabric keeps its compression.
