The MANU-HiT® is a wrist brace that holds the wrist still in at least two directions while leaving the thumb and fingers free to work. It is used for carpal tunnel syndrome, drop hand, tendon sheath inflammation, wrist arthrosis, strain complaints, injuries to the carpal bones, after a sprain, after a plaster cast comes off, and after hand or wrist surgery.

A reinforcement bar runs along the palm side and another along the back of the hand. Both can be warmed and bent, so a fitter shapes them to the wearer’s own wrist rather than the wrist adapting to the brace. Between them the compression of the sleeve takes load off the carpal bones, the joint capsule and the ligaments, and helps swelling drain.

The edge of the brace is a soft composite — Sporlastic calls it SOFT-EDGE TECHNOLOGY — so it can be worn against the skin for long stretches.

  • Wash MANU-HiT gently in lukewarm water (30 °C) with mild detergent and air dry
  • Do not dry it in the tumble dryer, on the heating or in the microwave
  • For washing, please remove the two reinforcement rails from the brace
  • Close the hook-and-loop fasteners before washing; this will keep the hook-and-loop fasteners functional for longer

Sporlastic prints these steps in the instructions for use supplied with the product.

  • Slip your hand into the brace.
  • Close the hook-and-loop fasteners.
  • Now insert the hook-and-loop strap 3 between your thumb and index finger and fasten it.
  • The wide inelastic hook-and-loop strap 4 completes the stabilisation of the wrist with measured tension right around it.
  • Readjust the hook-and-loop fasteners if necessary.
