The GENU-TEX® OA + COMFORT is a knee brace with 3-point principle for relieving pressure on the medial or lateral compartment and physiological guidance of the knee joint, incl. additional circular silicone nubbed adhesive tape.

Available in 7 sizes, fitted by circumference 14 cm above and 14 cm below the knee joint space.

Is this the right one for you?

Choose this if the diagnosis is arthritis in the knee. Unloader braces shift weight off the worn side of the joint; warming compression supports ease the ache and stiffness.

Everyday ache or swelling? Sporlastic GENU-HiT SUPREME + COMFORT Knee Support is a lighter compression support.

Torn ligament, or repaired one? Sporlastic GENU-TEX ACL Knee Brace is a rigid frame brace built to protect the ligament.

The 30° marked on the diagram is 30° of bend from a straight leg — a slightly bent knee, not a right angle.

Left and right are different items — pick the side on the product page.

  • Wash GENU-TEX® OA + COMFORT gently in lukewarm water (30 °C) with mild detergent and air dry
  • Do not dry it in a tumble dryer, on a radiator or in the microwave
  • To wash GENU-TEX OA + COMFORT, please remove the joint splint from the brace
  • Close all hook-and-loop fasteners before washing; this will keep the hook-and-loop fasteners functional for longer

Sporlastic prints these steps in the instructions for use supplied with the product.

  • To put on the GENU-TEX® OA + COMFORT, it is best to sit on a chair so that your knee is slightly bent.
  • Open both rotary wheel fasteners by lifting off the rotary wheel.
  • Take GENU-TEX OA + COMFORT by the orange-coloured grip aids and step through the brace with your foot. This is easier if the back of the brace is facing forwards. Then pull GENU-TEX OA + COMFORT over the ankle joint to below the hollow of the knee.
  • Then turn GENU-TEX OA + COMFORT on the lower leg by 180° so that the back of the knee is facing backwards and the patella pad is facing forwards again.
  • Then pull GENU-TEX OA + COMFORT over the knee using the grip aid until the silicone ring of the patella pad encloses the kneecap. Check that the orthosis fits correctly by feeling the kneecap.
  • Now close the straps by placing both rotary wheel fasteners back on the magnetic plate. Turn a wheel clockwise to increase the strap tension, or lift the wheel off to release it. Find a moderate strap tension that stays comfortable for several hours. The maximum tension is only reached when the leg is extended.
  • When standing, please check once again whether the patella pad continues to surround the kneecap properly. If necessary, correct the position of GENU-TEX OA + COMFORT again.
  • To remove GENU-TEX OA + COMFORT, open the two rotary wheel fasteners and slide the brace off the leg. It may also help to turn the brace 180° on the lower leg.
  • Never let the fasteners stick to the knitted fabric: always press them back onto the strap straight away. This prevents damage to the knit.
