Conservative/post-operative
All indications requiring securing the physiological guidance of the knee joint, such as:
ACL injuries
ACL rupture
Lateral ligament injuries
General damage to capsule/ligament structures in the knee joint
Meniscus reconstruction
Uniaxial or multiaxial instability
Rheumatoid arthritis
Loosening of knee after TEP

Not suitable for: allergic, inflamed or injury-related skin changes over the area it covers (for example swelling or redness); impaired circulation or lymphatic soft-tissue swelling; nerve-related disturbance of sensation or of skin nourishment (trophism) in that area, with or without damage to the skin; a leg-axis deviation greater than about 10°; peripheral arterial disease; borderline peripheral blood flow; a risk of vascular compression.

Wash GENU-TEX® ACL gently in lukewarm water (30 °C) with mild detergent and air dry
Do not dry it in the tumble dryer, on the heating or in the microwave
To wash GENU-TEX ACL, please remove the two joint splints from the brace
Close all hook-and-loop fasteners before washing; this will keep the hook-and-loop fasteners functioning longer

To put on the GENU-TEX® ACL knee brace, it is best to sit on a chair so that the knee is in a slight flexion.
Open all fasteners that have an orange unthreading stop and close them again in the widest setting.
Take GENU-TEX ACL by the orange grip aids and step through the orthosis with your foot. This is easier if the back of the orthosis is facing forward. Then pull the brace over the ankle joint to below the hollow of the knee.
Then turn GENU-TEX ACL on the lower leg by 180° so that the popliteal (the hollow at the back of the knee) knit faces backwards again and the patella pad faces forwards again.
Then pull the brace over the knee with the help of the grip aid until the silicone ring of the patella pad encloses the kneecap. Check the correct fit of the brace by palpating the kneecap.
Now close the straps. Start with the upper lower leg strap, then follow with the lower thigh strap. Finally, close the knee straps.
While standing, please check again whether the patella pad continues to enclose the kneecap well. If necessary, correct the position of the brace again and then tighten all the hook-and-loop fasteners so that all four straps fit snugly on the leg with even tension.
To take off GENU-TEX ACL, open the front hook-and-loop fasteners, close them in the widest setting and slide the brace off the leg. It may also help to turn the brace 180° on the lower leg.
Never let the fasteners stick to the knitted fabric: always press them back onto the strap straight away. This prevents damage to the knit.
