Braces and orthoses built with rigid components are usually covered under Canadian extended health benefit plans (e.g. Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, Blue Cross, Green Shield Canada) when accompanied by a valid prescription from your physician or nurse practitioner. It may also qualify as an eligible medical expense under the CRA's Medical Expense Tax Credit. One size only, adjustable across this range.

Can be worn on the right or the left.

  • Wash the EPI-HiT® brace and wrist support gently in lukewarm water (30 °C) with mild detergent and air dry
  • Do not dry it in the tumble dryer, on the heater or in the microwave
  • It is not necessary to remove the pads for washing
  • Close the hook-and-loop fasteners when washing to keep them functional for longer and to avoid damage to other garments

Sporlastic prints these steps in the instructions for use supplied with the product.

  • Position the EPI-HiT® brace approx. 3-4 cm below the inflamed tendon tissue, or directly over the pathologically hypertonic (tense) muscle. Make sure the large friction pad sits on the affected side.
  • Adjust the brace via the latch mechanism by lifting the tab slightly with the fingernail so that its ends lie on the muscle bellies, see illustration for correct fit. Adjust the pad accordingly.
  • Now close the hook-and-loop fastener.
  • The fastener of the brace is continuously adjustable and the brace should be adjusted with it so that a firm fit is achieved without uncomfortable pressure.
  • The correct pressure is achieved when the brace can no longer be felt after a few minutes when the arm is relaxed, but pressure is immediately felt under the pad when the hand is used.
  • If the brace is too tight, loosen it slightly or move it down a few millimetres. Also move the brace downwards if it pinches when the elbow is bent in flexion.
  • The brace should be worn all day, please take it off at night.
  • The wrist support should fit closely all round the wrist. Use the stabilising strap to set the degree of support you need.
