This is an inelastic compression wrap for the calf — a short-stretch garment with adjustable straps that takes the place of a bandage. It sits still on the limb at rest and pushes back hard when the muscle contracts, which is what an inelastic wrap is for: low resting pressure, high working pressure.

Transition is supplied with liners that compress the foot and ankle only — 10-20 mmHg there, nothing up the calf. It suits a leg that needs the foot covered but not a second graduated layer under the wrap, and an ordinary shoe still goes on over the liner.

Compression is set by the wearer rather than knitted in, anywhere across the 20-50 mmHg range, using the indicators built into the straps — so it can be re-tensioned through the day as the limb changes size, and stepped down as swelling comes off.

Is this the right one for you?

Choose this if your arm or leg changes size through the day, so a fixed garment never fits it for long — this wraps on and re-tightens.

Still bringing the swelling down? Sigvaris Compreflex Reduce Foot 20-50 mmHg Adjustable Compression Wrap replaces bandaging during decongestive therapy.

Is the foot and ankle swollen too? Sigvaris Coolflex Standard Foot 20-50 mmHg Adjustable Compression Wrap is a foot piece that fits inside most shoes.

This product provides medical-grade adjustable compression (20-50 mmHg range). Medical-grade compression garments (20-30 mmHg and above) are commonly covered under Canadian extended health benefit plans (e.g. Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, Blue Cross, Green Shield Canada) when accompanied by a valid prescription from your physician or nurse practitioner. It may also qualify as an eligible medical expense under the CRA's Medical Expense Tax Credit. We're happy to prepare an itemized estimate for your insurer — use Get an Insurance Estimate for this item, or add several to your cart and request one for everything at once. No charge, and it's not an order. Measure first thing in the morning, before swelling builds, with the tape snug but not tight.

  • Close all hook-and-loop fasteners before washing
  • Machine wash on the gentle cycle at 30°C (86°F), in a mesh laundry bag
  • Use a mild detergent; never use bleach or fabric softener
  • Tumble dry on low heat or air dry; air drying is recommended to extend the life of the wrap
  • Store at room temperature in a dry place, away from light and direct heat
  • Keep the wrap away from ointments, oils and greases, which shorten its service life
  • Wash it as often as needed

Sigvaris sets the compression on this wrap with its Accutab® devices, so the order of the steps matters: position first, tension last.

  • Put the liner on first, smoothing out any wrinkles, and pull the wrap on over it.
  • Position the wrap on the limb and lay the straps down gently, without stretching them or applying any compression yet.
  • Attach one Accutab at the end of each strap position.
  • Working from the ankle upward, pull each strap until it reaches the line on its Accutab for the pressure you have been prescribed — 20-30, 30-40 or 40-50 mmHg.
  • Check the fit through the day and re-tension the straps as the limb changes size; that is what the wrap is for.

The Accutab devices come with the garment. Have the compression level you should be setting confirmed by the clinician who prescribed it.
