The Sigvaris Advance Armsleeve armsleeve is a graduated compression garment for the arm, knitted in mild 15-20 mmHg compression. Graduated compression is strongest at the wrist and eases as it travels up the arm. It covers the arm from the wrist to the top of the arm.

Advance is the Sigvaris arm garment for lymphoedema of the arm and for care after a mastectomy. The knit is soft and breathable and wicks moisture so the skin stays dry under it through a full day, and a Sensinnov® silicone grip-top band holds the sleeve at the top of the arm instead of letting it slide down.

Sigvaris sizes it from your own arm measurements — palm, wrist, upper mid-arm and arm length — rather than from a clothing size.

Canadian extended health benefit plans (e.g. Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, Blue Cross, Green Shield Canada) generally reserve coverage for medical-grade compression of 20-30 mmHg or higher with a prescription, so this item is not usually eligible. Measure the arm first thing in the morning, before swelling builds, with the tape snug but not tight.

Sizes are written as two letters:

Size — set by your palm, wrist and upper mid-arm
Length — R for Regular or L for Long, set by your arm length. So XL is X Large Long, not extra large.

Keep a slight bend in the arm when measuring length.

Wash after every wear, which maintains the compression and keeps the garment hygienic
Hand washing is recommended; you may machine wash on the gentle cycle in lukewarm water up to 40°C (104°F)
Turn the garment inside out and place it in a laundry net before washing
Use a mild detergent; never use bleach or fabric softener
Rinse well and air dry; do not tumble dry, iron or dry clean
Store at room temperature in a dry place, away from light and direct heat
Alternate two or more pairs, and replace them after about six months of daily wear, as compression diminishes with wearing and washing
