Stabimed® pro is a short soft knee brace without adjustable stops. It steadies the sides of the knee and stops it bending backwards past straight, and it is pulled on like a sleeve rather than wrapped around the leg.

It is for mild to moderate instability of the knee joint, mild chronic instabilities, slight meniscus injuries, mild to moderate osteoarthritis, and for protection in the later stages of rehabilitation and the return to sport.

A polycentric hinge on each side follows the knee through its arc instead of turning on a single point, and both the hinge and its bars are covered in soft material so nothing hard rests against the leg. A special knit at the hollow behind the knee keeps that area breathable, and the compressive medi Airtex+ fabric improves proprioception, which helps the knee steady itself. medi prints that this brace contains rigid material.

Hand wash only, in lukewarm water (about 30°C/86°F) with a mild detergent
Close all hook-and-loop (velcro) fasteners, straps, and zippers before washing to protect the fabric
Do not use fabric softener, bleach, or harsh chemicals; do not dry clean
Remove and clean any removable pads or cushions separately with water or mild soap
Air dry fully -- do not tumble dry, use a hair dryer, or dry in direct sunlight
Apply skin creams or lotions after removing the support in the evening, not right before putting it on, since they can affect the material's properties

medi publishes these steps for putting the brace on. Ask a trained fitter to show you the first time.

Open the straps and pull them back so they are out of the way.
Bend your leg to about 45 degrees and pull the brace up over the leg.
Check that the kneecap sits centrally in the patella opening and that the middle of each hinge is level with the top edge of the kneecap.
Fasten both straps, the calf strap first and then the thigh strap.
Walk a few steps if you can and correct the position if the brace has moved.
To take it off, take hold of the lower outer end of the brace and pull it downwards.
