The medi Elastic Knee Support is the simplest knee garment in medi's orthopaedic range: a two-way stretch knit shaped to follow the anatomy of the knee, with no pads, hinges or straps. It is thin enough to wear under clothing through the day.

It is for a knee that needs compression rather than bracing, including slight instability of the knee joint, articular effusions and swellings, chronic, post-operative and post-traumatic inflammation, osteoarthritis and arthritis, and patellofemoral pain syndrome.

The knit is a medical compression class 2. Constant compression with a massaging action as you move gives relief to an irritated joint and improves blood flow through the soft tissue around it. Two versions are listed: the classic item 601, and item 602, which adds a silicone top band that stops the support migrating during exercise.

Is this the right one for you?

Choose this if the knee aches or swells from overuse, wear or a strain, with no ligament, kneecap or arthritis diagnosis.

Pain at the front, around the kneecap? medi Genumedi PT Knee Support guides and relieves the kneecap specifically.

Knee gives way or shifts? medi Genumedi Pro Knee Orthosis adds hinges for side-to-side stability.

Diagnosed with arthritis in the knee? medi Soft OA Knee Brace is built for arthritic knee pain.

This is a medical-grade compression support. Medical-grade compression is commonly covered under Canadian extended health benefit plans (e.g. Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, Blue Cross, Green Shield Canada) when accompanied by a valid prescription from your physician or nurse practitioner. It may also qualify as an eligible medical expense under the CRA's Medical Expense Tax Credit. We're happy to prepare an itemized estimate for your insurer — use Get an Insurance Estimate for this item, or add several to your cart and request one for everything at once. No charge, and it's not an order. Coverage details, annual limits, and prescription requirements vary by plan, so please confirm your specific benefits with your provider and keep your prescription and itemized receipt for your claim.

  • Style is the top edge, not the size: Item 601 (classic) has a plain top, and Item 602 (silicone band) adds a silicone top band that stops the support sliding down during exercise.
