The JOBST® FarrowWrap® Basic Legpiece is the range's affordable ready-to-wear leg wrap, made for chronic edema on a regular-shaped limb rather than on one that has lost its shape. Its hook-and-loop bands are removable and double-sided, and their length can be changed and trimmed as the leg reduces, so one wrap keeps fitting through a course of treatment. It wraps the lower leg in overlapping bands that are loosened or re-tightened as the swelling rises and falls, with short-stretch fabric giving low resting pressure and high working pressure as the calf works. A JOBST FarrowHybrid® compression sock liner comes in the box. Basic machine washes at 30°C with a mild detergent and is flat dried.

Is this the right one for you?

Choose this if your leg is a regular shape, the edema is long-standing, and cost is part of the decision.

Want a more supportive fabric? JOBST FarrowWrap Strong Legpiece 30-40 mmHg is a durable fabric with a soft inner layer, for moderate to severe edema.

Deep skin folds, or soft bulges of swollen tissue? JOBST FarrowWrap Classic Legpiece 30-40 mmHg is the stiffest fabric, and lies flat against folds.

  • Machine wash at 30°C (86°F) with a mild detergent
  • Do not use fabric softener, optical brightener or stain remover
  • Do not wring or twist; dry flat only — never tumble dry, and never on a radiator or in direct sunlight
  • Do not bleach, dry clean or iron
  • Fold each hook-and-loop band back on itself before washing and when you take the wrap off; it protects the fabric and makes the wrap easier to put back on

JOBST® publishes the step-by-step application on the insert card supplied with the wrap and in its donning videos — follow those and your clinician's instructions.

  • Cover any open wound with an appropriate dressing before anything else goes on
  • Put a FarrowHybrid compression sock on first, under the legpiece
  • Wrap the legpiece over the liner and fasten the bands from the ankle upwards
  • Tighten or loosen the bands through the day as the swelling changes
  • When you take the wrap off, fold each hook-and-loop band back on itself before putting it away or washing it
