Lateral stabilization of the ankle

During everyday activities such as walking or taking the stairs, an unstable ankle needs protection to prevent spraining. The MalleoLoc L orthosis stabilizes at the outside of the ankle, and fits in narrow shoes thanks to its slim design. Its anatomically shaped L shell and the securing straps are positioned on the foot and the lower leg in such a way that the natural heel-to-toe movement is not restricted.

This is a medical-grade orthopaedic brace that incorporates rigid structural support. Braces and orthoses built with rigid components are usually covered under Canadian extended health benefit plans (e.g. Sun Life, Manulife, Great-West Life, Blue Cross, Green Shield Canada) when accompanied by a valid prescription from your physician or nurse practitioner. It also delivers 20-30 mmHg of graduated compression. It may also qualify as an eligible medical expense under the CRA's Medical Expense Tax Credit. Sized on ankle circumference — measure around the narrowest part of the ankle, just above the ankle bone. Check this product's size chart below before ordering. If you're between sizes, contact us and we'll help you measure.

Machine wash in cold or cool water (about 30°C/86°F) on the gentle or delicate cycle
Wash with similar colours using a regular detergent with no additives -- avoid fabric softener
Use a mesh laundry bag, and secure hook-and-loop (velcro) tabs first to protect the knit
Hand washing is gentler and may extend the product's life
For light use, washing every two to three wears is enough; heavy use needs more frequent washing
Lay flat to air dry -- do not hang to dry (the fabric can stretch out of shape) and do not tumble dry
