Actimove® TaloCast Air holds the upper ankle joint between two anatomically shaped shells. The shells are rigid enough to stop the inversion and eversion that re-injure a healing ligament - the sideways roll of the foot - while leaving flexion and plantar flexion free, so the ankle still bends up and down and the gait stays normal.

Pre-inflated air cells inside the shells provide the compression and take up the space left as swelling goes down, so the fit stays customised without re-padding the brace. A long-lasting, extra durable heel strap runs on the OUTSIDE of the shell, where it can be adjusted one-handed without taking the brace off.

The shells are low-profile and light, so the brace can be worn in most shoes. Actimove recommends wearing it over a sock, and wearing shoes for optimal support while walking.

Each Size names one of two shells:

S/M Trainer — the smaller shell, for a wearer under 165 cm
L/XL Standard — the larger shell, for a wearer over 165 cm; either fits the left or the right ankle
