Not suitable for: allergic, inflamed or injury-related skin changes over the area it covers (for example swelling or redness); impaired circulation or lymphatic soft-tissue swelling; nerve-related disturbance of sensation or of skin nourishment (trophism) in that area, with or without damage to the skin.

This is a medical-grade orthopaedic brace that incorporates rigid splints. Braces and orthoses built with rigid components are usually covered under Canadian extended health benefit plans (e.g. Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, Blue Cross, Green Shield Canada) when accompanied by a valid prescription from your physician or nurse practitioner. Can be worn on the right or the left.

Wash GENU-HiT GS gently in lukewarm water (30 °C) with mild detergent and air dry
Do not dry it in the tumble dryer, on the heating or in the microwave
Remove the two joint rails from the guide pockets before washing
Close all hook-and-loop fasteners before washing; this will ensure that the hook-and-loop fasteners remain functional for longer
Washing will restore any tension in the moulded knit fabric that may have decreased over time
Sporlastic therefore recommends washing the brace more frequently

Sporlastic prints these steps in the instructions for use supplied with the product.

Open the hook-and-loop fasteners and attach the straps loosely to the velour, to prevent damage to the knit.
Hold the knee brace at the top on both sides and pull the GENU-HiT® GS over your knee.
Make sure the SPORLASTIC AIR-MATRIX silicone friction pad surrounds your kneecap without pressing on it. The two side splints should not press uncomfortably on the leg.
First close the lower strap with moderate tension. Repeat this with the upper strap.
Ensure that the edge of the brace is not folded inwards or outwards and lies flush against the body.
To remove the brace, open the straps and fasten them loosely to the velour.
Now slide the GENU-HiT GS down from the top towards the foot.
