mediven® Harmony is a round-knit compression armsleeve for a swollen arm, knitted at 30-40 mmHg of graduated compression — firmest at the wrist and easing as it travels up towards the shoulder, so the pressure moves fluid in the right direction.

Double ellipses sit on the point of the elbow and in the crease, so the sleeve bends with the joint instead of bunching there; wrinkling, and the soreness wrinkles cause, is what that construction is designed to prevent. An innovative fabric structure works on the tissue as you move, and Clima Comfort keeps the skin comfortable year round.

A narrow napped silicone top band is knitted on with a flat seam, so it holds by texture and stays air-permeable rather than gripping like a sticky strip. The range runs from a plain armsleeve through styles with a top band, a shoulder cap, or a matching hand piece — the combined version adds two flat seams and a wedge at the web of the thumb to take the tension off.

Is this the right one for you?

Choose this if the swelling is in your arm, not your leg.

Limb swells and changes size through the day? JOBST FarrowWrap Gauntlet 20-30 mmHg wraps on and re-tightens as the swelling goes down.

Measure the arm first thing in the morning, before swelling builds, with the tape snug but not tight.

Each Fit names three things:

  • Sleeve — plain is the arm only; Combined armsleeve adds a hand part over the hand and thumb
  • Top — plain ends on the upper arm; With topband adds a silicone band to hold it up; With shouldercap and belt reaches over the shoulder on a body strap
  • Width — Regular or Extra-wide, cut wider at the elbow and upper arm

  • Wash daily after wearing -- washing restores the fabric's elasticity
  • Hand wash, or machine wash on a gentle cycle between 30–40°C (86–104°F)
  • Use a mild detergent made for compression hosiery; never use fabric softener
  • Do not bleach or dry clean
  • Do not wring -- gently press out excess water in a towel instead
  • Turn stockings with a lace or crystal-motif band inside out and place in a laundry net before washing
  • Dry flat or tumble dry on a low/gentle setting; never dry in direct sun or on a radiator or heater

Put the armsleeve on first thing in the morning. If you shower and use skin cream, wait until your skin is completely dry — a damp arm makes the sleeve far harder to get on.

  • File your fingernails smooth first, and leave rings and a watch off until the sleeve is on.
  • Have fabric or rubber gloves ready; they grip the knit and make it much easier to distribute over the arm.
  • Gather the sleeve, slide your hand through the opening and work it up the forearm.
  • Spread the fabric evenly over the elbow and upper arm, smoothing out wrinkles as you go rather than pulling from the top.
  • On a combined style, settle the hand part so the wedge sits at the web of the thumb without pulling.
  • Check the top band lies flat against the skin and is not rolled, then put your jewellery back on.
  • Ask us about the medi Arm Butler if reaching or gripping is difficult; it holds the sleeve open so you can push your arm straight in.

Unless your prescriber says otherwise, wear the sleeve from morning to night.
