medi Walker boot Kidz is a walker boot sized for children: a rigid shell with a padded liner that fixes the ankle at 90 degrees, closed by hook-and-loop straps, with a rocker sole underneath.

It is for post-operative treatment after a rupture of the Achilles tendon, injuries to ligaments, soft tissues and tendons, and a fracture of the fibula; and for treatment without surgery of the forefoot, midfoot and tarsus, of the Achilles tendon, and of a fracture of the fibula.

The boot fixes the ankle at a right angle, and the rocker sole promotes a natural walking pattern while it does. The liner opens fully, so a wound can be inspected and the skin kept clean without dismantling the boot. Extra plastic shells are supplied to add stability at the lower leg — the broader one is for the calf — along with spare padding for the instep, the heel strap or the space between the ankle bone and the joint. medi says the extension and flexion limits are only to be changed on the instruction of a doctor or orthotist.

Hand wash only, in lukewarm water (about 30°C/86°F) with a mild detergent
Close all hook-and-loop (velcro) fasteners, straps, and zippers before washing to protect the fabric
Do not use fabric softener, bleach, or harsh chemicals; do not dry clean
Remove and clean any removable pads or cushions separately with water or mild soap
Air dry fully -- do not tumble dry, use a hair dryer, or dry in direct sunlight
Apply skin creams or lotions after removing the support in the evening, not right before putting it on, since they can affect the material's properties

Open all the hook-and-loop fasteners and the leg and foot padding.
Place the foot in the padding so the heel sits firmly in the pre-formed heel bed, then close the padding. If there is a lot of overlap at a slim calf, the pad can be trimmed to length with scissors.
Place the foot in the rigid shell, with the two guide supports lying exactly along the middle of the inside and outside of the calf.
Close both hook-and-loop fasteners of the foot section and the heel strap at the back.
Fasten the three leg straps from the bottom upwards, keeping them flat against the pad and firmly closed at the front — but not so tight that circulation is affected.
For extra stability, fix the plastic shells supplied to the pad; the broader one goes at the calf. The spare padding can cushion the instep, the heel strap, or the space between the ankle bone and the joint.
