M.step® Kidz is an ankle brace for children, built from two rigid, anatomically pre-shaped half shells — one on each side of the joint — joined by adjustable straps and lined with light foam gel pads.

It is for cases needing the ankle stabilised with rolling movement limited: ligament injuries of the upper ankle joint, grade 2 to 3, treated after the injury or after surgery; after a sprain; and for chronic instability of the ankle.

The shells stop the foot rolling inwards and outwards — the movement that turns an ankle over in the first place — while leaving it free to bend up and down. The gel pads follow the shape of the joint so pressure spreads as evenly as possible, and the straps can be moved along the brace as well as tightened, so the fit can be re-set as swelling goes down over the weeks of treatment. It is slim enough to be worn inside a shoe, and comes in one universal children's size in a jeans-blue design. medi prints no known contraindications for it.

Close all hook-and-loop (velcro) fasteners, straps, and zippers before washing to protect the fabric
