Rhizomed® soft is the soft-shell thumb splint: a light, breathable fabric brace with a polyurethane stabilising element built into it, closed by a wrist strap and two thumb straps. One version is made for both hands.

It is for rhizarthrosis, ligament injuries such as ski thumb, and irritation of the thumb joint.

The built-in element holds the thumb's saddle joint and the knuckle above it still, and that is what reduces the pain that comes with moving them. The splint's shape is semi-open, so it keeps working as swelling in the thumb rises and falls, and the two adjustable thumb straps let you add stability and suit different hand shapes. The pinch grip between thumb and index finger and an ordinary grasp are both preserved. A large opening means the splint goes on and comes off with as little pain as possible. medi prints that this splint contains rigid material.
