Levamed® Active is the Levamed ankle support with a strap system added. The compressive class 2 knit and the twin 3D silicone pads are the same; on top of them sits an adjustable strap with elastic and inelastic sections that can be shortened or taken off altogether.

It is for an ankle that needs compression and padding and also needs one direction of movement held back: a sprain with the capsule overstretched, chronic ligament instability with repeated twisting injuries, lateral ligament tears in the second phase of treatment, and syndesmosis injuries being treated without surgery.

Set tight, the inelastic sections of the strap resist supination, the inward roll that turns an ankle over; set loose, they leave the joint free to move. The strap guides are laid out so the brace can be put on without help, a V-shaped stretch zone at the cuff opens the entry, and a balloon-silk donning aid is included. Left and right versions are made separately, so choose the side you need.

Hand wash only, in lukewarm water (about 30°C/86°F) with a mild detergent
Close all hook-and-loop (velcro) fasteners, straps, and zippers before washing to protect the fabric
