Leukomed® Sorbact® is Leukomed T Plus with a bacteria-binding wound contact layer. It is the dressing chosen when the surgical circumstances or the patient's own risk factors make infection more likely, or when the wound is already contaminated.

The Sorbact layer works physically, not chemically: its surface is hydrophobic (water-repelling), and wound bacteria and fungi — which are hydrophobic too — bind to it irreversibly and leave with each dressing change. Nothing is killed in the wound, so no cell debris or endotoxin is released to slow healing, and no resistance can develop.

Around it is the familiar construction: a waterproof, breathable transparent film with an absorbent pad for low to moderate exudate, shower-proof and sterile. Supplied in seven sizes from 5 x 7.2 cm to 10 x 35 cm.
