Hypafix® skin sensitive is a wide-area fixation sheet for skin that cannot take an ordinary adhesive — ageing, cortisone-thinned or parchment skin, neonatal skin, and skin already damaged by repeated taping.

The difference is the adhesive: soft silicone instead of acrylic. It holds securely but releases without pulling at the skin, so removal is atraumatic and the sheet can be lifted and repositioned during application rather than being torn off and replaced. It is also used to protect skin against friction and shearing and to hold catheters, cannulae, patches and ointment dressings.

The sheet stays permeable to air and water vapour, which protects the skin around the wound from maceration. Cut to size from the roll: 5 cm x 5 m, 10 cm x 5 m or 10 cm x 2 m.
