A total contact cast is the reference treatment for offloading a diabetic foot ulcer: a close-fitting cast that spreads the load away from the ulcer and, because it cannot be taken off, is worn as prescribed rather than when the patient remembers. The Cutimed® Total Contact Cast Kit packs everything for one cast into a single box.

Essity developed the kits with clinicians who treat these ulcers daily, choosing materials that give an intimate close fit and proper pressure redistribution. The standardised technique is the point — it makes a demanding cast reproducible, and the cast locks the heel and toes so shear and friction on fragile wound edges are reduced. No secondary boot is needed.
