Cutimed® Sorbact® Ribbon is the same bacteria-binding material in ribbon form, for packing cavity wounds of all kinds — a sinus, an abscess cavity or a deep undermined ulcer, where a flat dressing cannot reach the base.

The dressing surface is coated with a highly hydrophobic (water-repelling) fatty acid derivative. Wound bacteria and fungi are hydrophobic too, so when the dressing is moist they are drawn to that surface and bind to it irreversibly, unable to move back into the wound. They leave with each dressing change. The action is physical rather than chemical, so nothing is killed in the wound and no cell debris or endotoxin is released to delay healing — and because no antiseptic or antibiotic is used, no resistance can develop.

Sterile. Supplied as 2 x 50 cm in boxes of 20 and 5 x 200 cm in boxes of 10.
