Cutimed Sorbact Hydroactive combines bacteria binding with an absorbent hydrogel core, handling exudate and microbial load in one dressing. Its surface is coated with a hydrophobic fatty acid derivative that wound bacteria and fungi are naturally drawn to; once bound they cannot return to the wound bed, and they leave with each dressing change. The action is physical rather than chemical, so nothing is killed in the wound and no cell debris or endotoxin is left behind to delay healing.
