The ViscoHeel® is a silicone heel cushion that sits in the back of a closed shoe and takes the shock out of every step. It is used for pain in the Achilles tendon region, for Haglund's deformity — the bony bump at the back of the heel — and to soften the load reaching the ankle, knee and hip when those joints are worn or have been replaced.

The cushion is anatomically contoured, so it does more than pad: it cradles the heel and guides the hindfoot, which takes strain off the calf muscles and the Achilles tendon and lets irritation settle. Soft padding under the heel eases pressure discomfort, and the shape lets the foot roll through the step normally rather than sitting on a flat block.

Bauerfeind makes it from a high-quality silicone that is gentle on skin, easy to wipe clean and durable enough to move from one pair of shoes to another. It is supplied in pairs. Like every Bauerfeind product, it is made in Germany.

Sizes below EU 35 are children’s, and US kids’ sizing is unisex — one number serves both rows. Child sizes run up to 13 and then youth sizing restarts at 1, so youth 1 is a BIGGER foot than child 13.

EU is Bauerfeind’s own figure and the one printed inside the shoe; the US/Canadian equivalents are the usual conversion and can differ by half a size between shoe brands.
