Increased stabilization of the thoracic and lumbar spine

The SofTec® Dorso multi-purpose orthosis is used in cases of vertebral displacement (spondylodesis), and also after operations on tumors, and to keep fractures immobile. It straightens the spine and stabilizes the transition point between the lumbar and thoracic spinal columns. It is almost as easy to put on as a jacket and is easily adjustable in several places. Like every Bauerfeind product, it is made in Germany.

Is this the right one for you?

Choose this if you need your spine actively straightened rather than just supported — for osteoporosis, a spinal fracture, a rounded upper back, or scoliosis.

Everyday muscular back pain? Bauerfeind LumboTrain Back Brace is a lighter brace for strain and fatigue.

  • Take the carbon-fibre (CFRP) frame out before washing.
  • Hand wash the orthosis separately at 30°C (86°F) with a mild detergent.
  • Always close the hook-and-loop (Velcro) fasteners first so they keep working and are not damaged.
  • Never expose the orthosis to direct heat — no radiator, no direct sunlight.
  • Clean the carbon-fibre frame itself with a sponge and a pH-neutral soap or shampoo.
