The thigh support is one component of the CoxaTrain® hip orthosis, not the complete brace. It is sized by the circumference at the center of the thigh, and is specific to the left or right hip.

A complete CoxaTrain fitting combines the pelvic support with a thigh support and a hinge, each sized independently — all three are supplied together as the Bauerfeind CoxaTrain Hip Brace. Bauerfeind advise that the components are not intended to be purchased or submitted to insurance separately, so order this one on its own only to replace a worn part or to complete an existing fitting.

A complete CoxaTrain fitting combines the pelvic support, a thigh support and a hinge, each sized separately, and Bauerfeind advises that the components are not intended to be purchased or submitted to insurance individually — the complete brace, which contains rigid elements, is the device a plan assesses. Bought on its own, this part is generally not eligible for reimbursement, so please confirm your plan's terms with your provider before ordering. The hinge that carries this support is ordered separately, by body height.

Machine wash in cold or cool water (about 30°C/86°F) on the gentle or delicate cycle
Wash with similar colours using a regular detergent with no additives -- avoid fabric softener
Use a mesh laundry bag, and secure hook-and-loop (velcro) tabs first to protect the knit
Hand washing is gentler and may extend the product's life
For light use, washing every two to three wears is enough; heavy use needs more frequent washing
Lay flat to air dry -- do not hang to dry (the fabric can stretch out of shape) and do not tumble dry
