A replacement pad set for the Aspen® VRTX™ CTO and CTO4 cervical-thoracic orthoses — the soft parts between the rigid frame and the skin, at the collar and at the vest that sits on the chest and upper back.

A CTO is worn for weeks and covers far more skin than a collar alone, so its pads take more sweat and more pressure. Once they flatten, the load stops spreading across the contact area the way the brace was designed to spread it.

The same set fits both the CTO and the CTO4. Aspen's own instruction is to keep a second set so one can be washed and air-dried while the other is worn — the pads must never go in a machine or a dryer.

This is a replacement pad set for the Aspen VRTX CTO/CTO4 orthosis, not a standalone orthosis. On its own it provides no bracing or compression, so it would not normally be assessed by a plan separately — coverage follows the brace it belongs to. Bought on its own, this part is generally not eligible for reimbursement, so please confirm your plan's terms with your provider before ordering. Peel the pads away from the hook dots to take them off the collar.
Hand wash the pads with mild soap and warm water. Do not machine wash and do not use bleach. Rinse thoroughly.
Wipe the plastic shell with mild soap and water, rinse it, and towel dry before re-attaching the pads.
Press the pads with a towel to squeeze out the water, then lay them flat to air dry. Do not use heat.
Use a spare pad set while the first one is drying.
