The OMO-HiT® ABDUCTION holds the arm away from the body at 30° while the shoulder heals — the position a surgeon asks for after a rotator cuff repair or a shoulder operation, and after an injury where the joint has to be rested off the chest rather than strapped against it.

A shaped cushion sits between the upper arm and the ribs and sets that angle; the forearm rests in a sling of open-meshed breathable fabric, and a waist belt stops the whole assembly swinging. A thumb sling holds the hand in place, and a ball is included so the hand can be positioned and exercised without moving the shoulder.

The shoulder strap has a quick fastener designed to be worked with one hand, and both the straps and the forearm position adjust, so the brace can be set up left or right.

Can be worn on the right or the left.

  • Wash OMO-HiT ABDUCTION gently in lukewarm water (30 °C) with mild detergent, rinse thoroughly and air dry
  • Do not dry it in the tumble dryer, on the heating or in the microwave
  • The abduction pad can be wiped with a damp cloth
  • It must not be immersed in liquids

Sporlastic prints these steps in the instructions for use supplied with the product.

  • Open the quick release of the shoulder strap. Support the injured arm and slide the forearm into the sling. Place the adjustable shoulder strap around the neck and close the quick release.
  • Both ends of the shoulder belt are adjustable. Adjust the shoulder strap to the required length.
  • The shoulder pad is held on with hook-and-loop and can be moved. To do this, take the pad off the shoulder strap and reposition it to suit you.
  • Attach the closing strap to the top of the sling near the elbow.
  • Attach the thumb strap to the open end of the sling between the thumb and fingers.
  • Place the abduction cushion on the inside of the brace. With the abduction cushion you can achieve an abduction angle of approx. 30°. This depends on your body size and soft tissue situation.
  • Place the strap of the abduction cushion around your waist and close it. Adjust the strap to the desired length.
  • Attach the ball for hand positioning and training to the long side of the abduction cushion.
