The ELASTIC THUMB SUPPORT is an elastic wrist support with stiffening built in on either side of the thumb, so the thumb is steadied while the wrist and the rest of the hand stay usable.

It is worn for injuries around the thumb’s base and saddle joints, for instability of the collateral ligaments on either side of the thumb, for early rhizarthrosis — wear in the thumb saddle joint — for de Quervain’s tendovaginitis stenosans, and for the overuse pain sometimes called mobile-phone thumb.

Because the body of the support is elastic knit rather than a shell, it takes up little room and can be worn under a glove or while working. It is fitted by wrist circumference.

Wash the ELASTIC THUMB SUPPORT gently in lukewarm water (30 °C) with mild detergent and air dry
Do not dry it in the tumble dryer, on the heating or in the microwave
Any tension in the knitted fabric that decreases over time will be restored by washing
Sporlastic therefore recommends washing the support more frequently
