mediven® Plus is an opaque, very resistant round-knit compression garment for people who want a hard-wearing everyday stocking. This version is knitted at 30-40 mmHg of graduated compression — firmest at the ankle, easing further up the leg so it works with your calf muscles to move blood back towards the heart.

A reinforced plus heel, an optimised toe and a ribbed sole reinforcement put extra material where the knit takes the most punishment. The 5 cm (2 in) cuff spreads its hold over a broad band, and the range adds extra-wide calf and thigh fittings.

This is the pantyhose version, so the compression runs from foot to waist in one piece with no top band to slip down. The foot is closed toe, so the knit covers the whole foot. medi prints this range for CEAP classes C0 to C5; the full list is in the Indications tab.

Is this the right one for you?

Choose this if standard sizes feel tight around your calf or thigh — “Plus” is medi's extra-wide fitting, not a stronger compression.

You also want the leg covered, in a smooth matte finish.

Want it to look like ordinary hosiery? mediven Elegance 30-40 mmHg Compression Pantyhose Open Toe is fine and see-through.

Want the gentlest fabric on your skin? Bauerfeind VenoTrain Soft 30-40 mmHg Compression Pantyhose is knitted extra-soft.

  • Wash daily after wearing -- washing restores the fabric's elasticity
  • Hand wash, or machine wash on a gentle cycle between 30–40°C (86–104°F)
  • Use a mild detergent made for compression hosiery; never use fabric softener
  • Do not bleach or dry clean
  • Do not wring -- gently press out excess water in a towel instead
  • Turn stockings with a lace or crystal-motif band inside out and place in a laundry net before washing
  • Dry flat or tumble dry on a low/gentle setting; never dry in direct sun or on a radiator or heater

Put your compression garment on first thing in the morning, before swelling has built up, and make sure your skin is completely dry. Fabric or rubber gloves protect the knit and make the whole job easier.

  • Reach inside the garment, take hold of the heel and turn it inside out down to that point.
  • Stretch the foot opening with both hands, slide your foot in and draw the fabric carefully up over the heel.
  • Check the toe and heel are sitting where they should before you go any further.
  • Work the fabric up the leg a little at a time, spreading it evenly and smoothing out wrinkles; never overstretch it, and grip the knit rather than the seam of the top band.
  • Finish with the panty comfortable at the waist and the gusset sitting securely at the crotch.

Unless your prescriber says otherwise, wear it from morning to night, every day. Ask us about donning aids such as the medi Butler if gripping or bending is difficult.
