medi Collar soft Kidz is a soft cervical collar sized for children: a foam collar in a cotton cover, made in a child-friendly jeans-blue design. It supports the neck rather than locking it.

It is for stiffness and pain in the neck and shoulders, osteoarthritis of the neck, wry neck from muscle spasm (torticollis), whiplash injury of the neck, instability of the neck, and rheumatic pain.

The collar stabilises the cervical spine and limits how far the neck can turn and bend, and the foam holds warmth against the skin, which medi says helps the treatment along. Three sizes are made, and each has its own height as well as its own neck circumference — the taller collars go with the larger necks — so the collar reaches from the base of the neck to the jaw without pushing the chin up. medi prints no contraindications for it.

Hand wash only, in lukewarm water (about 30°C/86°F) with a mild detergent
Close all hook-and-loop (velcro) fasteners, straps, and zippers before washing to protect the fabric
Do not use fabric softener, bleach, or harsh chemicals; do not dry clean
Remove and clean any removable pads or cushions separately with water or mild soap
Air dry fully -- do not tumble dry, use a hair dryer, or dry in direct sunlight
Apply skin creams or lotions after removing the support in the evening, not right before putting it on, since they can affect the material's properties
