Leukomed® T Plus is the film-plus-pad dressing: the same sterile, waterproof, transparent film as Leukomed T, with a highly absorbent wound pad in the middle for wounds that are still secreting.

That combination is what makes it an all-in-one post-operative dressing — the pad takes up the exudate while the film keeps water and bacteria out, so the patient can wash, shower and bathe from the start. A non-adherent layer over the pad stops it sticking to the wound, the film is permeable to water vapour and oxygen, and the rounded edges resist curling.

Skin-friendly yet secure, it can be worn for up to seven days. Supplied in seven sizes from 7.2 x 5 cm to 10 x 35 cm, in hospital packs of 50 and retail packs of 5.

Essity prints a five-step application for the Leukomed film dressings:

  • Hold the dressing by the red handling tape and remove the top layer of release paper.
  • Using the handling tape, place the transparent dressing accurately over the wound, then remove the second layer of release paper.
  • Press the film onto the skin, especially around the edges — full skin contact is what makes it waterproof and a bacterial barrier.
  • Remove the application film in one go using the red handling tape.
  • To take it off, pull the film dressing away evenly from one of the edges.
