JOBST® Comprilan® is a short-stretch compression bandage. It stretches to no more than about 100% of its own length, so once it is on it behaves like a firm sleeve the calf muscle has to push against.

That stiffness is the point. At rest the bandage sits at a moderate resting pressure that is comfortable to keep on; when you walk, the muscle pushes out against it and the pressure briefly rises — the working pressure that moves lymph and venous blood back towards the body. It can be combined with padding to spread or increase the pressure over an awkward limb shape.

Comprilan is washable and reusable up to ten times, which keeps a course of treatment affordable where dressings are changed often. It is supplied on rolls and applied by a clinician; the options on this page are roll widths and lengths, not body sizes.

The bandage clips are made with natural rubber latex. JOBST's compression catalogue lists only four exceptions to its not-made-with-natural-rubber-latex statement, and Comprilan's clips are one of them.
