Dynacast® Prelude is a pre-padded fibreglass splinting system supplied on a roll, so a splint is cut to the length the limb actually needs instead of being picked from a rack of pre-cut sizes. There is no wrong side — it can be applied either way up.

A single-layer fibreglass core does the immobilising; the soft, breathable padding around it stretches over the cut ends so no hard edge touches the skin, and it is hydrophobic, which keeps the water used to activate the core away from the skin and lowers the risk of maceration. A re-sealable closure lets the core be opened for trimming or reinforcing.

It needs very little water to activate, sets in about three to seven minutes and is weight-bearing after roughly fifteen. Supplied as rolls 2.5 to 15 cm wide, 4.6 m long.
