Cutimed® Sorbact® Hydro is the version impregnated with hydrogel, for dry wounds. The gel brings moisture to a wound bed that has none, which both supports healing and keeps the bacteria-binding surface moist enough to work.

The dressing surface is coated with a highly hydrophobic (water-repelling) fatty acid derivative. Wound bacteria and fungi are hydrophobic too, so when the dressing is moist they are drawn to that surface and bind to it irreversibly, unable to move back into the wound. They leave with each dressing change. The action is physical rather than chemical, so nothing is killed in the wound and no cell debris or endotoxin is released to delay healing — and because no antiseptic or antibiotic is used, no resistance can develop.

Sterile. Supplied as 7.5 x 7.5 cm and 7.5 x 15 cm, ten dressings a box.
