The GenuTrain® Grip Top is the standard GenuTrain knee brace finished with silicone dots along its upper edge. It is an active support for a knee that aches, swells or feels unsteady during everyday movement, and for the recovery period after an injury or knee surgery.

The brace is knitted from Bauerfeind's breathable Train knit, which grips the leg and works with the anatomically shaped Omega+ pad around the kneecap. Walking squeezes and releases the pad against the joint, an intermittent massage that eases pain and helps swelling drain away. Meniscus wings at the sides of the pad and Hoffa spots below the kneecap add pressure where the joint space and the fat pad sit, and rigid plastic stays on both sides keep the brace in line with the leg.

The silicone dotted top band is the difference: it holds the brace where you set it, so it does not creep down the thigh over a long day or during sport. Like every Bauerfeind product, it is made in Germany.

Standard fit.

The 30° marked on the diagram is 30° of bend from a straight leg — a slightly bent knee, not a right angle.

  • Machine wash separately at 30°C (86°F) with a liquid detergent.
  • Remove the hook-and-loop (Velcro) straps before washing where possible, or fasten them firmly in their designated place.
  • Remove pads or splints before washing if they can be taken out.
  • Use a laundry net and keep the spin cycle to a maximum of 500 revolutions per minute.
  • Air dry only — do not tumble dry, or the knitted fabric may be impaired.
  • Wash regularly so the knitted fabric keeps its compression.
