Aspen VRTX CTLSO Upgrade Kit

This kit converts an Aspen® VRTX™ TLSO into the full VRTX CTLSO, extending the brace up from the trunk to the neck without buying a second brace. It replaces the TLSO's rear extension panel with a posterior panel that carries a collar, and swaps the front bar into an anterior assembly that supports the chin.

It fits the Aspen VRTX TLSO only, and comes in two sizes matched to the TLSO you already have — XS, or Standard/XL. Fitting is done by a clinician: the panels click into the existing shell, then the collar height and yoke angle are set on the patient.

This is an upgrade kit for the Aspen VRTX CTLSO system, not a standalone orthosis. On its own it provides no bracing or compression, so it would not normally be assessed by a plan separately — coverage follows the brace it belongs to. Bought on its own, this part is generally not eligible for reimbursement, so please confirm your plan's terms with your provider before ordering. Aspen prints these steps for a clinician; the kit is fitted to an existing VRTX TLSO.

Press down on the two buttons and slide the posterior extension panel off the VRTX TLSO.
Release the bar and pull the anterior assembly upward out of the clip holding it.
Line the two circles on the CTLSO posterior panel up with the shell, insert the lower edge into the slot, and slide it down until both click into place.
Slide the anterior bar into the front panel the same way.
Lift the locking mechanism on the anterior assembly and slide the pad up until the chin sits just before the dots on the collar's chin padding, then lock it.
Push the button on the yoke, pull to separate, set the angle, fasten the hook-and-loop straps to the collar, and squeeze the yoke back together to lock the angle.
Clip the lateral panel straps into the collar on both sides and pull them gently downward for a snug fit under the arms.
Pull the pull tabs out to the fit you want and secure them to the loop material at the front.
