The stop frame and key set for the Aspen® OA Knee+ unloader brace. The stops are small inserts that drop into each hinge and cap how far the knee is allowed to straighten or bend; the key is the tool that fits them.

Aspen supplies extension stops at 0, 5, 15, 20 and 25 degrees and flexion stops at 0, 30, 45, 60, 75 and 90 degrees. Both hinges must always be set to the same figures. Changing them is a clinical decision — the range is normally opened up in stages as rehabilitation progresses, on the instruction of whoever prescribed the brace.
